My senior year has been going good. It was a little scary at first but not anymore. I was afraid of meeting my new teachers, getting a new schedule and meeting new people this year. I was very scared but I seen that everything went well.
I started this year behind pace. During my freshman year, I went to Mexico with my family and missed a lot of school and I stayed behind Because of this I have been making up classes. I am behind in most classes. I am trying to finish Health and US History, those are the two classes I’m close to being done with. I’m also taking Government and that has been very hard because it is lots of reading.
Right now, I am working on my journals for my senior project and I’m very nervous about that. I am trying to do my community service hours. Mr. Arroyo set up a couple of hours here at school. We cleaned around the baseball fields and campus. I don’t feel like anything is exciting about this project, writing is hard for me so it makes me feel like I don’t want to do it.
This year my goal is to finish high school. The future is not clear right now, but I do know that I have to work hard. As for a career path, I still don’t know, I think I might get a job.

Since my last journal not much has changed. I am working on catching up in my classes. I am almost done with U.S. History and Health. Mr. Arroyo is helping me to finish Health. I will be staying after school to get it done. I have started to also come in early on Wednesdays to get extra help on assignments. By the end of this semester, I hope to be done with health and history. Getting work done has been hard because of my disability. I have trouble reading and it makes it hard to understand my assignments. My Senior Project has given me some problems. I get things done for my page but I’m having trouble putting it on my senior website. This is making me to not like my senior project, I wish I could understand how to do this. I only thing I’m enjoying about my senior year is that It will be done soon. I am still not sure what I will do after I graduate. I talked to Ms. Benitez, my counselor, about things. Mostly, I tell her about things I want to do later in life. I feel that I am getting much support in my decisions. Mr. Arroyo and Ms. Benitez are both willing to listen and try to guide me towards a good way of life.

Over winter break I spent time with my sister and her husband. We went to her sister in laws house and ate posole and tamales. We opened our presents and then I had gone home and my neighbors had a bonfire. We spent time together and enjoyed one another's company. The next day, I went to the same sister's house, we went to doctor to find out what gender is her baby. It turns out that she's having a girl !! We were so excited that we were crying from joy. Most of all, I was relaxed during my break and now I'm back and focusing on graduating.
Looking back on my first semester, I love my new teachers. They are helpful without putting too much stress on me. I got more help this year which I am really grateful for. Mr. Pierote really helped me too, I am learning a lot about our democracy and how our government works. Thanks to his class, I feel like I'm ready to help vote and now I understand politics more than I did before. The thing that I regret is turning in my work late because I am now behind in a few classes. I am a little afraid that due to my procrastination, I don't believe I'm going to graduate on time.
The thought that this is my last semester of school has really hit my heart ( the one on my right side). It hit me when I started back in my freshman year and I realized how fast these 4 years will go. I now see how close I am to the end and how fast this really is going. I'm scared of life after high school because now I have to face the real world.
Before graduation I need to finish US History and Health. I also need to stay on pace. To get this done, I will be staying after school. Doing homework will be most important in order to graduate but I will do my best to get everything done. Another thing I want to get done is look for a job. I not thinking about college because I want to move to Florida after I graduate. maybe When I move, I will look at school near my sister's house in Florida.
